Authasas Advanced Authentication® supports authentication using non-PKI smartcards. This method is commonly of use when a PKI infrastructure is not warranted for a smartcard logon project, or when smartcards have already been issued to users by a 3rd party (such as a National ID Card) as a read-only card that cannot be modified by corporate IT.
This simple or “generic” smartcard authentication method supports standards-based smartcards and their associated middleware or mini-driver. Authasas will interface with the card via the appropriate Cryptographic Service Provider for read/write or read-only processes.
