Authasas Advanced Authentication® Application Edition is a powerful extension to Authasas Advanced Authentication® Enterprise Edition that is provided to enable direct authentication to applications.

Application Edition is a powerful SDK, integrating with client-server applications, web applications, and hosted applications using any supported authentication method. The SDK supports all COM-based programming languages for direct integration with commercial and in-house applications. For integration with web-based applications, integration is primarily performed within the script files executed locally on the workstation (i.e. Citrix Web Interface, Forefront Identity Manger, etc.).
The SDK requires deployment of Authasas Advanced Authentication® Enterprise, and leverages the Authasas Runtime Environment (RTE) installed on the client or Citrix Server where the application is running. The Authasas RTE does not require modification to the Windows GINA or Credential Provider.
As a result of integration with the Authasas Advanced Authentication SDK, applications will still receive the password (domain password) as would normally be accepted by such application. Therefore the back-end authentication mechanism will remain unchanged. The application front end UI’s and mechanisms will be modified to call the Authasas Advanced Authentication® Runtime to present the user with a biometric, card, or other supported logon method prompt rather than prompt for password. Authasas will match the credential provided against the Authentication server (or local cache, if server is unavailable; i.e. user not connected to the internal network). Upon successful authentication, the Authasas Runtime via the SDK will provide back to the requesting application the appropriate credential (domain password) as stored encrypted in Active Directory, AD LDS, or local cache.
